Back to School
Welcome back to another school year at Goddard! We are looking forward to a year full of fun and learning.
Back To School Night will be held on Wednesday, September 25th from 7:00 to 8:00pm. Back To School Night is an opportunity for parents to get to know their child's teachers and see what a typical day in school is like. This event is for parents only - no children, so book those babysitters early! We hope that everyone can make it for this special night. |
Special Lunches
With the new school year upon us, we are welcoming the return of Special Lunch Weeks! September 16th-20th will be a Special Lunch Week. Check your calendar for the lunch selections. The cost is $3.00 per day or $14.00 for the full week. Of course, Tuesdays are always chicken nuggets and Fridays are pizza days.
Please remember to hand in lunch money to the office by 10:00am, or put it in the mailbox if no one is in the office. Don't put it in your child's lunch box - we usually don't find it in time to order! Also, if you will arrive at school later than 10:00, please call ahead and let us know you want to order lunch for your child. |
Apple Picking Trip
Our first field trip of the school year will be on Thursday, September 26th for our Pre-K and Kindergarten classes. We will be taking a bus to Johnson's Corner Farm for a hayride and apple picking! The cost of this trip will be $8.00 per child. The bus leaves at 9:30am, and we will stay at Johnson's Farm for lunch. We are always looking for parent chaperones, so look for a sign-up sheet later in the month.

Goddard All-Stars
If one of Goddard's teachers has been doing a particularly wonderful job, let her know by posting a star on the Teacher All-Star Board in the Exploration Room. Take a star from the basket, write on the teacher's name and why you think she's a star.

Check Those Mailboxes
Don't forget to check your mailboxes often!
They fill up quickly with newsletters, dailies, artwork, and other great stuff. |
Give Us a Call
If your child is going to be out of school one day due to illness or vacation, please call us and let us know as early as possible. Thanks!

We are ready to get back to school! In September our little toddlers will be learning a lot about themselves, their families, and their friends. They will also be experimenting with and tasting different kinds of foods. The toddlers will be concentrating on the letters A, B, and C and gaining a little culture through the study of France. We hope to have a great month!

Preschool 1
We are so excited for the start of the new school year. September 9-13 we are going to be learning all about ourselves. Be prepared to talk about your favorite foods, hobbies, games, and toys. Also bring in a picture of yourself so we can make our "All About Me" project more personalized. The week of September 16-20 we will move further along and learn about our families with a family tree and other exciting activities. We will need another picture, but this one should include your whole family. These pictures will be made into a cool project. September 23-27 we will be learning a lot about apples and how many different foods you can make with them. So be sure to bring your appetites and get ready for some fun in September.

We will have a survivor "Outback" picnic towards the end of the month. We also will celebrate an "Aussie Birthday Party" while studying Australia. We will learn shapes for math and cover A, B, and C for reading readiness. At the end of the month, we will start utilizing our "Weekly Readers". I am very excited about incorporating them into my reading program. We will learn about our state of New Jersey and we will prepare a special snack with NJ tomatoes.
