Book Fair
It's time for our annual Scholastic Book Fair! Throughout the first week of February, we will have an assortment of children's books for books on sale. They will be displayed in the front lobby and in the Kindergarten hallway. If you are interested in purchasing books, you can pay with cash, check (made out to the Goddard School), or credit card in the office.
The school will receive free books from Scholastic after the fair is over. The more books are sold, the more books the school receives. Help get more books for our teachers, support the Book Fair!

In the spring, individual pictures of the children are taken, but no class photos. Look for more details later this month.

Here it is, February already! We will be working with the children on their verbalization skills - repeating their names and other words. We will be making hearts, teeth and toothbrushes for Dental Health Month, lightbulbs for Thomas Edison's birthday, and other exciting art projects! We will help the younger babies to roll over, and practice crawling and sitting up at the table by themselves. We would also like to welcome Sean McGovern to our infant room.

Kindergarten
February is a month full of excitement. In only 28 days we will be celebrating Groundhog Day, Pajama Day, the 100th Day of School, Presidents Day, Dental Health Month, and African-American History. We will also have our moms and dads come visit us for a special breakfast this month. In order to fully enjoy these holidays, we will be doing a number of arts and crafts projects, singing songs, and baking special snacks. In the midst of all the fun, we will also be moving on with our academics. In Language Arts we will focus on the short and long vowel sounds. In Mathematics we will be getting into geometry concepts and fractions. We will use various manipulatives and play lots of games to help us master these challenging concepts.
I look forward to a fabulous February here in the land of Kindergarten. Please stop by and share our good times with us!
Miss Chris
